General Leon Salomon

General Leon Salomon currently serves on the Board of Directors for Gyrocam® Systems.

As a board member, General Salomon guides the overall philosophy and direction of the organization. His senior military knowledge has provided expert guidance to Gyrocam as it relates to field technology.

From May 1996 to March 1999, General Salomon was Vice President for Purchasing and Logistics and, in turn, the Senior Vice President for Procurement at Rubbermaid, Inc. He is the Honorary Colonel of the Ordnance Corps, Emeritus, and is a Senior Fellow of the Association of the U.S. Army.

General Salomon retired from active duty in April 1996. Prior to his retirement, he commanded the U.S. Army Materiel Command (AMC). Before accepting this position, he was assigned numerous command and staff positions. From 1992 to 1994, he was the Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Department of the Army.  Prior to that assignment, he was the Deputy Commanding General for Combined Arms Support, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, and Commanding General, U.S. Army Logistics Center at Fort Lee.

Throughout his military service, General Salomon has received awards and decorations, including two Distinguished Service Medals, the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Air Medals, three Army Commendation Medals, the Expert Infantryman Badge and the Army Staff Identification Badge.

General Salomon has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemistry and biology from the University of Florida and a Master’s of Science degree in management logistics from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology. His military education also includes the Chemical Officer Advanced Course, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.

Since retiring from the military, Salomon has served on the Board of Directors for Global Security Management and GRC International.

He and his wife, Shirley, have three children (Jeffery, Gregory, and Kristen) and six grandchildren.
